So many things have happened since the last time I wrote…exactly a month ago. Carter and I took a trip to Florida to see Uncle Brad before he headed off to Hawaii, we received a contract on the house, and Heath’s grandfather PawPaw came up for a navy reunion.
Saying goodbye to Brad was so sad. I am so thankful for the time he and Sook spent in Florida. And I am so thankful that they got to see Carter’s first year. I truly believe Brad and Carter have a special bond – one that I haven’t seen with anyone else. I am also blessed that Brad and Heath have become good friends. I always loved it when Heath came into the room and said, “I talked to Brad today.” I love you guys.
I had a huge blonde moment while in FL – I missed my flight. My mom, Carter, and I went to the airport on Monday to pick up my sister-in-law Cheryl. Mom stayed in the car and circled around the terminal. When we got back to the car, she handed me my purse and itinerary saying, “You need to go back in and talk to someone. Your flight takes off in 10 minutes.” What!!! To cut the story short, the whole time I was in FL, I thought that I was supposed to leave on Tuesday…wrong! Since my parents and Brad were leaving for Atlanta on Wednesday, Carter and I decided to tag along and booked a flight out of Atlanta. --- 5 hours in a packed car…with my family…and a baby, we definitely gave the Griswald’s a run for their money. Although the trip was a little rough, it was well worth the effort. Carter got to meet Aunt Mary and Uncle Troy.
And then there’s the house…it’s sold and we are moving! Yeah!! The movers are coming next Wednesday. I can’t tell you how excited and blessed we are to have sold the house in such a slow market. It’s going to be very sad leaving Cinci, our first home and Carter’s birthplace. Living so far from family has had a great impact on Heath and I. You can’t help but “grow up” when it’s only the two of you. I think our marriage is much stronger for it.
