This past month has really flown by! We finally moved into a house. The location is great…less than 10 miles from the beach and only 15 minutes to downtown Jacksonville/work. Carter started daycare and immediately caught a nasty cold. And of course I caught an even nastier one...insert “flu” here. Daycare has been a little rough for Carter. He cries when I drop him off, but the teacher insists that he’s fine throughout the rest of the day. So far we’ve received the following comments, “Carter has a great appetite. He eats seconds and thirds.” and “Carter bumped his head with a toy. Can you sign this accident report?” and “Carter hit a kid with a book today.” and “Carter likes to dance with the music.” and “Carter scratched a kid. Can you sign this accident report?” and “Carter really likes puppet time. He talks to the puppet, but we don’t know what he’s saying.” Oh yeah, evidently Carter has also learned the art of time out for hitting. All I can say is…God bless his teachers.
Christmas was great. Carter loved decorating his tree and dancing to the singing Santa. Santa came to Mimi and Grandpa’s house this year since we were still unpacking boxes. I can still see him running around the corner to see what Santa brought him. I don’t think that will ever get old. Of course he went straight for the spring loaded horsey that Nana & Papa bought. He loved it! It was clear that opening all his gifts was going to be too overwhelming for him, so we only opened a few at a time. It took almost all day to open his gifts. Carter also got to see Papaw, Grammy, and Uncle Justin who visited for a long weekend. It’s fun to see him interacting with family members these days. He’s a lot more playful and entertaining than he was a couple of months ago.
This next month should bring some more changes. Besides getting back into the routine of working and daycare, Heath will be traveling more. A new territory means more travel in order to get to know his customers, not to mention all of the markets he has to attend. But on the bright side, at least I’ll have family nearby to help out. Oh, and at least it’s not as cold as it is in Cinci! We’re expecting it to be in the 70s next week!
