Yes, I've let too much time pass since my last post. It's been one year, one month and 17 days. Wow! So in that time we've all had birthdays, moved in to a new house which we've done a lot of renovations to and have weathered the storm of the terrible twos (now we're headed to "no is my favorite word," threes). With age, comes wisdom and a refreshed outlook on family and self awareness. Now that it's summer, I love that we can spend all Saturday in the yard as a family. Taking time to look at the bugs and playing tennis or riding bikes. By lunchtime you realize that you've done absolutely nothing on your to do list, but does it really matter? I've also committed time to self preservation - staying sane by getting out every now and then. It's amazing how refreshed I feel after getting away, mentally and physically, for just a couple of hours.
Adding to the whole outlook on family, Brad and Sook were here for a little over a week recently. I've missed them so much. It's been almost a year and a half since I saw them last (they live in Hawaii). And just to think how much Carter has changed since then...and only seeing it though pictures on Facebook - oh and I forgot to mention Greg and Cheryl had a baby in January. They missed that too. So Heath and I have decided not to let that much time pass and are looking into taking a family trip sometime early next year. I hope to start adding some pictures on the blog soon. I don't think I'll be able to post a year's worth of pictures, but at least I can get some of the cutest ones up.
