Sometimes I think that if my head wasn't attached to my body, I'd lose it. I had every intention of uploading a wonderful photo album of Carter's visit to Florida today. But it seems that I have left my portable hard drive...my Holy Grail... at Kristen's house. I guess that's what you get for scrapbooking until 12:30 am.
Our visit to Florida was great. It makes me really miss being near family. Carter was spoiled rotten, of course, and I got to have some needed free-time with my brothers and their wives. The only set back was traveling with a very tired baby. Carter fought going to sleep on the first leg home...a full flight...I thought the two men sitting next to me were going to explode! One of the men even took the bottle up to the flight attendant for me with the instructions, "Fill it to the 8 with warm water." Ha! I couldn't help but laugh at the mess I was in. In an instant I became "That Woman" who couldn't control her child. The next flight was so much better...he finally slept.
Things are definitely going a lot smoother than on the plane. Carter is busy as always. I think he's really close to walking. He's balancing on his own sometimes. (I've got some video of him to post later.) We went to the Newport Aquarium yesterday with a group of friends. I couldn't figure out which he was more excited about...seeing the sharks or watching Will and Blake. We ended the night with a sleepover at his girlfriend's house (Alyssa) while I scrapbooked till the wee hours with Kristen. Yes, scrapbook. My brothers think I'm an old maid for scrapbooking, but it gives me something to do, isn't as expensive as golf, and Carter will have the memories long after I'm gone. So there!
